| The practice has been situated
here since 1973. To expand our facilities and availability for appointments, a
major programme of rebuilding and refurbishment took place during 1996. |

| THE FIRST VISIT It is necessary for a parent to come with the child for this visit, to provide us with important background information and to help the child feel more relaxed. We will allow sufficient time to discuss the childs past and present general and dental health and their previous experience of doctors and dentists. We will examine the child and where necessary radiographs and other diagnostic procedures will be undertaken. At the first visit we will only carry out treatment procedures that are essential, so that the child has more time to become accustomed to us. REVIEW VISITS Many dental changes occur in a growing child, and it is important that we monitor the changes at appropriate intervals. At these visits our hygienists will review toothbrushing and other plaque control methods with both you and your child. They will also discuss the advisability of fluoride supplements and a sensible approach to diet. Sweet foods have become a routine part of the modern lifestyle, and we would like to show our patients how such food and drink can be included in their diet without causing tooth decay. We will encourage your child to maintain the high standards of dental health that you would wish to be achieved and that we aim to provide. After we have examined your child, we will discuss our findings and recommendations with you. |
